Community Recreation graduates work in leadership and supervisory roles in local, county, state and national government agencies and nonprofit community-recreation settings. Coursework emphasizes leadership, program planning, budgeting, managerial techniques and environmental awareness.

Graduates may expect to find employment in community recreation departments, state and national parks and nonprofit agencies, such as YWCAs, YMCAs and Boys & Girls Clubs. They also are eligible for certification as New Jersey Recreation Administrators and, two years after graduation, as Certified Park and Recreation Professional (CPRP).
